Vietnamese Hamburgers
This unique hamburger uses fish sauce to give it a Vietnamese flair. You may feel cautious after hearing that, but after your first bite you'll be glad you took the plunge. These delicious burgers are not only different, they are fantastic!
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 pounds 90% lean ground beef
- 4 tablespoons garlic powder
- 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 tablespoons nuoc mam (fish sauce)
- 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons onion flakes
- 2 dried ground tabasco peppers
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
- Form into 10 patties.
- Grill over a hickory wood fire until desired doneness.

It tastes good, but there is nothing Vietnamese about this. If you're looking for an easy, decent tasting dish, this would be fine. However, the fish sauce doesn't make this any more Vietnamese than soy sauce would make a dish Asian.
