Faux Chocolate Chip Cookies
Made with carob chips as opposed to chocolate chips, these Faux Chocolate Chip Cookies has all the great flavor of your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes, but in a much lighter form. Hooray for healthy cookie recipes!
Notes
If they spread out too much when baking refrigerate the dough before placing on cookie sheet.

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 cup butter or oil
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup carob chips
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
Instructions
- Sift the dry ingredients together.
- Cream the butter, honey, egg and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Add the carob chips and nuts.
- Drop by teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

I will be making these as treats for my dog, as he loves cookies but cannot have regular chocolate chip cookies. Will probably make them a little smaller. Thanks for the recipe--he will truly love them.
