Ingredients
- 6 cups water, plus enough extra water to make 2 quarts
- 4 teabags, green or black
- 3/4 cup sugar substitute
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Boil 6 cups water.
- Remove water from heat, then place four regular size teabags in the water. Let this sit until water cools or overnight.
- Pour tea in a 2 quart pitcher and fill to top with more water. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Fill glass with ice cubes and pour tea over.

For real southern tea you have to use black tea & at least 1 whole cup of regular white sugar!

I make a great simple syrup(fortified with lemon zest or fresh grated ginger, etc.) and use orange pekoe tea. My friends from the south say it the best sweet tea that they had.....

For real southern style sweet tea I prefere orange pekoe or black tea and real sugar.
