Pear and Ginger Jam
Spread this delicious pear and ginger jam on any kind of bread and you'll have a snack you won't be able to stop eating. For a homemade, original recipe try this jam and you'll love the results.

Process according to manufacturer's directions.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds fresh Bartlett pears
- 1 orange
- 1/2 lemon
- 1/2 cup ginger, diced and candied
- 1 package powdered (1-3/4 oz.) fruit pectin
- 5 cups sugar substitue
Instructions
- Core and finely dice pears- enough to make 4 cups.
- Process coarsely or put orange and lemon through food chopper.
- Combine lemon, orange, pears, candied ginger and fruit pectin. Bring to boil.
- Add sugar substitue and bring back to full rolling boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and skim with metal spoon. Cool 5 minutes, skim again. Put in sterilized jars and seal.

Hi mollyann - Typically jams are made with a decent amount of sugar. This recipe uses sugar substitute to cut down on the calories. You could certainly try using real sugar if you'd like. If you do, please let us know how it turns out! -Editors of FaveHealthyRecipes

5 cups of sugar substitute, what is that? 5 cups of Splenda that doesn't sound right for 3 pounds of ripe pears. can you use real sugar,?
