    Baked Mozzarella Sticks

    If you're in need of some healthy appetizers for parties, then give these Baked Mozzarella Sticks a try. They're a bit different than traditional deep fried mozzarella sticks, but fear not as these are just as delicious. Hooray for healthy finger foods!

    This recipe yields 28 3-inch cheese sticks.


    Serve hot or cold with salad or soup.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup whole wheat flour, sifted
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 cup reduced fat mozzarella cheese, grated
    • 1/2 cup margarine, or the butter substitute of your choice
    • 3 tablespoons cold water

    Instructions

    1. With a pastry blender, blend together the flour, baking powder, cheese and margarine.
       
    2. Then, add water and mix everything into a paste. Form into strips with a cookie press.
       
    3. Bake at 400 degrees F for 8 to 10 minutes.
