Whole Wheat Rosemary Soda Bread

Who says that soda bread is just for St. Patrick's Day? This Whole Wheat Rosemary Soda Bread is the perfect whole wheat soda bread to enjoy year round. Rosemary adds an irresistible flavor to this delectable loaf pan recipe. It's quite the addition to your dinner bread bowl. Smear some compound butter on there for a meal kit for a queen.

Ingredients

  • 5 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1/2 cup oats, plus more for sprinkling
  • 3 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 5 teaspoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Rosemary, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
     
  2. Begin soaking oats in almond milk and vinegar mixture.
     
  3. While oats are soaking combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Make a well in the middle of the bowl.
     
  4. Once the oats have soaked for about 10 minutes, pour the wet ingredients into the well and slowly incorporate the flour.
     
  5. Once everything is thoroughly mixed pour the dough onto a floured baking sheet. Sprinkle the top with oats.
     
  6. Bake at 450 for 20 minutes.
     
  7. Then reduce heat to 400 degrees F and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. The bread should sound hollow when you tap it. Once it reaches that point your beautiful bread is ready to done.
