Grilled BBQ Chicken Wings

These chicken wings are grilled rather than deep-fried saving you a lot of calories. Now you can feed your family a healthy meal that they will all love. Try a chicken wings recipe that is much less fattening but just as delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 pound chicken wings (20 wings or 40 pieces)
  • 1 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 4 tablespoon water
  • 8 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 4 bay leaves
  • Few dashes of hot pepper sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Rinse chicken.
     
  2. Cut at joints and discard wing tips.
     
  3. Arrange on ungreased cake pan in a single layer.
     
  4. Bake for 45 minutes; drain fat. Meanwhile combine rest of ingredients in a saucepan.
     
  5. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 2 mins, stirring occasionally.
     
  6. Remove bay leaves.
     
  7. Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken and bake 30 mins longer, stirring half-way through.
