The Rosedale Diet
What it is: Developed by Dr. Ron Rosedale, a metabolism expert, The Rosedale Diet promises a successful low-calorie diet that helps you stay healthy and full.
How it works: The diet targets leptin, the hormone that is responsible for telling the brain when to start and stop eating. Targeting this hormone will help dieters learn when they are full and thus not overeat.
What you do: Dieters eat lean proteins, fiber-rich carbs and good fats, all of which are categorized under A, B or C lists. A foods are foods that you should definitely eat, such as fish, olives, nuts and avocados. B foods include fruit, steak and beans and should be eaten moderately. C foods should be eaten sparingly and include processed foods, milk and hard cheeses.
Benefits: The Rosedale Diet has proven weight loss effects and has been linked to helping treatment for diabetes, arthritis and heart disease.
The Down Side: Some dieters may have trouble with the low-carb aspect of the diet and may need more guidance than that which is given in the diet book.
