The Russian Airforce Diet
Originally developed in the former Soviet Union to keep soldiers fit, this 7-day diet is very strict and low in calories.
What it is: The Russian Air Force Diet is a fad diet rumored to have been developed to keep Russian soldiers fit, but with such limited intake of food, you’d be unlikely to have much energy for soldiering.
How it works: The Russian Air Force Diet provides seven days of meals which are very low calorie. Breakfast is generally coffee and a very small amount of starchy carbohydrate. Lunch is a small amount of protein and a piece of fruit. Dinner is protein and a salad.
What you do: Dieters must follow the eating plan below and drinks 8 glasses of water a day. You likely won't have the energy for exercise.
Day 1- Breakfast- Coffee
Lunch- 2 eggs, tomato
Dinner- 7oz. red meat and green salad
Day 2- Breakfast- Coffee, piece of toast or saltines
Lunch- Same as Day 1 dinner
Dinner- 5.25 oz ham, 1 cup yogurt
Day 3- Breakfast- Same as Day 2
Lunch- Green salad with 1 tomato and 1 mandarin orange
Dinner- 3.5 oz. ham, fruit salad, 2 eggs
Day 4- Breakfast- Same as Day 2
Lunch- 5.25 oz cheese, 1 egg, 1 carrot
Dinner- fruit salad, 1 yogurt
Day 5- Breakfast- 5.25 oz. ham, 1 cup of carrots
Lunch- 7 oz. broiled fish, 1 tomato
Dinner- 8.75 oz. red meat
Day 6- Breakfast- Same as Day 2
Lunch- ¼ chicken baked, citrus fruit
Dinner- 2 eggs, 1 cup raw carrot
Day 7- Breakfast- Same as Day 2
Lunch- 7 oz. red meat, citrus fruit
Dinner- Anything less than 500 calories
Benefits: The calorie restrictions of this diet will likely encourage some weight loss, and the diet plan eliminates all guess-work from eating.
Downside: The weight will probably return quickly because this diet does not provide longevity. The diet does not provide adequate vitamins and nutrients for a healthy body.
