Ingredients
- 1 pound split peas
- 2 lean ham hocks
- 1 carrot, diced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 2 quarts water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a slow cooker, put in the split peas, ham hocks, carrot, onion, water, salt and pepper.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours.
- Remove ham bone. Cut meat off, dice,and return the ham to soup.
