Fresh Apple Salad
Make your Thanksgiving table glow with this delicious and fresh apple salad. While apple salad may sound unique, it is actually a staple at our family feast.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar substitute
- 1/3 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1 cup evaporated skim milk
- 1 can (20-ounce) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1/4 cup butter substitute
- 4 red apples, diced
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
- 1/2 cup fresh cherries, halved
Instructions
- Stir together sugar substitute and whole wheat flour.
- Whisk in the half and half.
- Pour mixture into non-aluminum saucepan.
- While mixing, add in pineapple and cook over medium heat.
- Whisk until mixture thickens.
- Add in butter.
- Remove pan from heat and let mixture cool.
- When mixture has cooled, add apples, nuts, and cherries.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve.
