Ingredients
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1/4 red bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 carrot
- 1 celery stalk
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 1/2 cup mushrooms
- KETCHUP:
- 8 sun-dried tomatoes
- 2 tomatoes
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tablespoon Bragg's amino acids, Nama Shoyu or Crystal Aminos
- 1/4 cup raisins, soaked (or 1/4-inch piece of tamarind)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Put the walnuts, red bell peppers, 1 teaspoon onion powder, carrot, celery, garlic and mushrooms into a food processor. Chop ingredients in food processor until desired consistency is reached.
- To make the ketchup, blend together the sun-dried tomatoes, tomatoes, honey, Bragg's amino acids, raisins, vinegar, onion powder, olive oil, rosemary, salt, chili powder, oregano and cayenne pepper.
- Stir the ketchup into the sloppy joe mixture. Serve on lettuce leaves or sprouted buns.
