Classic Raisin Stuffing

The sweetness of the raisins in this recipe is a great flavor for this classic bread stuffing recipe. Use this to stuff your Thanksgiving turkey, or bake in a casserole and serve as a delicious side dish year round.

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts (about 10 slices) dry bread
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup white onions
  • 2 small to medium red apples - grated
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • Water, for moisture

Instructions

Toss together with hands and moisten with water. Stuff bird or bake additional stuffing in corning dish along with baking bird.
