Ingredients
- 1 pound 97% lean ground beef, or lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup organic low sugar ketchup
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
- 1/4 cup onion, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Thoroughly combine ground meat, oatmeal, 1/2 cup ketchup, egg whites, onion, salt and pepper, and place into a loaf pan. Poke two or three holes in the top of the loaf, and pour the remaining 1/3 cup ketchup over the top.
- Place in the oven for about 1 hour, until the loaf is thoroughly cooked on the inside.

This recipe sounds very healthy, easy to prepare, and delicious. I'd add a bit of finely diced green pepper to mine, just because we like it. I'll definately make this very soon. By the way, 1 lb. of meat serves 8 people?....Not in our house! (LOL)
