Just when you thought that Indian cooking was too complicated, Anupy Singla comes out with her second cookbook, Vegan Indian Cooking. This book not only makes cooking traditional Indian food easy, it is an educational tool to help you make Indian meals a part of your home cooking repertoire. Learn about all the traditional spices, and experiment in your very own kitchen. You will not be disappointed with a book that can offer meals your family might not have ever seen before. Grow your cultural awareness along with your weekday meal planning.
Another fantastic aspect of this book is that many of the recipes in this book are plant-based. As the author describes, many traditional Indian recipes are as such, which makes them not only healthy, but inexpensive to try. Imagine making these 140 recipes without ever having to buy or cook a piece of meat. These no-meat meal options are low in calories and a great source of vitamins and nutrients.
Plus, if you've recently switched over to a vegan lifestyle, or are interested in switching over or incorporating vegan meals into your diet, this book outlines what it means to be a vegan eater in a clear, concise way. Bottom line ... If you're interested in Indian food or in vegan recipes, this book is for you.
