Making homemade dried fruits, vegetables, and meat is made simple with the Salton Food Dehydrator. They easy to use appliance has many levels for drying a large amount of fruit. They also include a tray for making your own homemade fruit leather. Now you can make healthy snacks with barely any work!

I used the dehydrator to make a few different items including fruit leather, dried herbs, and dried fruit. The instructions were easy to follow and I had great results. The appliance has an adjustable temperature control so you can set the right temperature for the right application and food. 

I love that the Dehydrator comes with 5 trays to use. This means you can make a large batch of dried fruit without having to do it over multiple days. It also comes with a handy herb tray and fruit roll-up tray.

Making fruit leather was much easier than I initially thought it would be. All I did was puree strawberries and pour the puree onto the fruit roll-up tray. After smoothing it out, I set the dehydrator and walked away for a few hours. By the end of the day, I had the perfect fruit snack. 

Using the dehydrator to dry herbs and pieces of fruit/vegetables/meat is just as easy. The herbs go right onto the herb tray, stems and all.  The tray prevents small pieces from falling through the tray. I will now be drying all the unused fresh herbs from my garden using this appliance! It is a great way to keep from wasting valuable herbs. 

While not everyone needs a dehydrator, it will quickly become one of your most used appliances. The money you save serving homemade snacks instead of expensive health foods makes it absolutely worth it!
