The handle is also made from silicone so it stays cool to the touch and is easy to remove from the boiling water. I was a little worried that the basket might fit awkwardly in a pot, but it really can be used in any size pot. The silicone allows the basket to be squished down without causing any issues with the steaming process. It also works in larger pots without a problem.
