The Caveman Diet
What it is: This diet rewinds you back to the original days of man (and woman). The main gist of it is easy – if it wasn’t around in prehistoric days, don’t eat it!
How it works: Cavemen ate their meals the natural way without fillers, preservatives and genetic engineering. This eliminates carbs like breads, sugars, and sodium. Look forward to plenty of proteins like meat, fish, nuts, and eggs as well as berries and root vegetables such as parsnips and carrots.
What you do: Do as the cavemen did – follow the diet of only what was available in prehistoric times and place an equal emphasis on lots of exercise. Remember, cavemen didn’t have cars and trains; they were very active people!
Benefits: There are no serious health risks surrounding this meal plan and it promotes healthy physical activity as well.
Downside: While the Caveman Diet may be perfect for carnivores, vegetarians and vegans will have a tough time achieving a proper nutritious balance on this plan.
