Grainful makes delicious steel cut meals and side dishes. They utilize steel cut oats, usually reserved for breakfast, to make tasty food that is also healthy. These frozen meals and side dish pouches come in a variety of flavors with different vegetables incorporated to make a balanced lunch or dinner.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the meals and side dishes from Grainful. The oats are hearty and make a great base for a number of dishes. I had the opportunity to try the Unstuffed Pepper, Vegetarian Chili, and Tuscan Bean & Kale entrees, as well as the Tomato Risotto and Madras Curry side dishes.
My favorite of the items I tried was the Unstuffed Pepper Meal. It actually tasted just like my mom's recipe for stuffed peppers! You don't even realize you are eating oat and not rice. The Tuscan Bean & Kale meal was another great dish with layers of flavor. I was shocked by how good these frozen meals tasted and I will be loading up my freezer.
The side dishes are perfect for serving with chicken and beef recipes. They are a healthier alternative to many other carb and fat loaded side dishes. I love keeping a few in the pantry for an easy dinner side.
Both the meals and the sides are incredibly easy to prepare. I used my rice cooker to make the Tomato Risotto and could not have been happier with how it turned out. The appliance cooked the risotto perfectly and required no work on my end. They also include instructions for making the sides on the stovetop or in the slow cooker. The meals are even easier to heat by just placing them in the microwave or oven. The convenience of making these dishes, along with the great taste, makes them a perfect healthy lunch or dinner choice.
