Super Simple Sausage Strata
For a breakfast casserole you can throw together in a pinch, add Super Simple Sausage Strata to your repertoire of breakfast recipes. Store-bought croutons make this one of those semi homemade recipes with built-in seasonings.

Ingredients
- 1 pound hot turkey sausage, crumbled
- 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 box seasoned croutons
- 3 cups skim milk
- 6 eggs or equivalent egg substitute
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sautee turkey sausage in a skillet and drain well. Lightly coat a 9x13-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray and place drained sausage in the dish.
- Layer croutons over sausage and cover sausage and croutons with grated cheese.
- Mix eggs and milk in a medium-sized bowl. Pour egg and milk mixture over sausage, croutons, and cheese. Sprinkle dry mustard on top. Salt and pepper to taste.
- Cover dish and store in the refrigerator overnight.
- In the morning, preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Bake casserole for 1 hour.
