Bee Free Honee Review
"From first taste, you would never know that Bee-Free Honee is actually made from apples rather than bees! The decline of bee populations has made news recently, so whether you’re interested in Bee-Free Honee due to fluctuating costs of traditional honey, you’re on a vegan diet, or you’re allergic to traditional honey, this is a delicious alternative. Made with Midwestern apples and bottled, capped, labeled, and boxed in the Twin Cities, this is as local as it comes. The only ingredients are apple, pure cane sugar, and lemon juice, so you can rest assured there is no added color or corn syrup, and nothing artificial. But don’t be fooled – this tastes almost exactly like honey, but this honee has a slightly brighter taste. You can use Bee-Free Honee as apple syrup on pancakes, waffles and French toast. You can also use it in BBQ sauces, cakes, breads, granola and more. Try this unique sweetener and you’ll be stuck!"
"The Bee Free Honee is fantastic! A honey that tastes like and is made from apples, what an idea! The light and sweet Honee has a very distinctive apple taste, but it's not overwhelming or overbearing. It's almost the same texture as your typical honey, but just not as rich; as in it’s sweet but not too sweet. This Honee would be wonderful on toast, in your tea or even drizzled over fruit, like your apples! I could even see myself pouring this over pancakes or waffles. Another great thing? It's all natural, and you can tell. Truly a wonderful product."
"I didn’t think this was possible: honey-free honey? But Katie Sanchez from Plymouth, MN has done it. After a mishap in the kitchen, Katie accidentally created her greatest act of culinary genius to date.
Bee Free Honee is entirely honey free. Instead, Katie incorporates three simple ingredients: pure cane sugar (for viscosity), lemon juice (as a preservative), and locally grown, Midwest apples. The result is a sweet, tart honey-like deliciousness that you won’t want to stop eating.
There are no artificial colors or corn syrup, no fear of bee allergies and no fear of botulism for your baby. Vegans love it, mothers love it, and you will love it too! Katie claims that Honee can be substituted for regular honey in any recipe, and I believe her. Honee provides a new type of honey taste without substituting the consistency, color or general sweetness of honey. Additionally, it is an exciting alternative to honey and I think it works better in some cases. My oatmeal raisin cookies with Honee seem to disappear from the refrigerator twice as fast as they do when I use regular honey…
I started tentatively, eating my Honee on toast or with tea. But before long, I was substituting Honee for honey in all of my baking and cooking. My favorite use for Honee (besides eating it straight) has to be using it as a sweetener in my baked beans. It introduces a hint of apple to any dish and it’s only 60 calories per tablespoon!
I also love Honee on toast. Simply by itself, you can really appreciate the aromatic apple flavor. I think it almost tastes like apple cider, one of my favorite winter drinks. As a natural sweetener, Honee is light but powerful. It doesn’t take too many teaspoons of Honee to really enhance your recipe.
Honee is also helping to save our bees. Scientists have been hinting at the steady disappearance of bee populations for years and the impact of this loss is starting to show. Honey prices are increasing as it becomes more difficult to harvest honey. Switching to Honee may alleviate the pressure on bees to produce honey for market demand. Try Honee and you are doing yourself, your family and the bees a huge favor.
Kudos on your mistake, Katie!"
"While many folks know there are several different varieties of honey in existence, a new product has come to light: Bee Free Honee. It’s a honey-like product, but is made from apples, and it really tastes great! The texture is comparable to traditional honey, but rather than being made from pollen, it’s made in Minnesota using apples grown in the Midwest. I sampled the Bee Free Honee plain, and founds its flavor to be superb. My kids had it in place of traditional honey with their chicken nuggets and both loved it; in fact, the 2-year-old kept dipping his finger in and eating it without the chicken as well.
I used the Bee Free Honee in a traditional Passover dish called charoses. It is typically comprised of apples, nuts, honey, and wine, and the Bee Free Honee in it was such a hit that my cousins told me it was my best charoses ever. Rest assured, I will be using my Bee Free Honee year after year at Passover! I also used it in a simple honeyed carrots recipe, and the raves continued. What’s not to love about all natural ingredients and amazing flavor?"
