Organic Valley Cheese Review"Provolone: I loved this Provolone! Provolone can often be a one-dimensional cheese - salty and creamy without much flavor. Don't get me wrong; salty and creamy is a great complement on a roast beef sandwich, but eating it alone is not so exciting. This was a Provolone I could eat all by itself. It was sharp and pungent, but not offensive - exactly the way cheese should be. It had the flavor and texture of a slightly more aged cheese than the Provolone I usually get from the deli.

White Cheddar: This cheddar was fairly mild, except for a consistent bitter note mixed in there somewhere. The label says the cheddar is made from raw milk, and I think the slight bitter, gamey flavor reflects that rawness. If you're a fan of raw milk cheeses, I think this will be your favorite part of the cheese, but if you aren't, the raw flavor is not strong enough to ruin the overall taste. I personally felt this cheddar could have been a bit sharper as well. It wasn't too mild, but I definitely expected it to be a bit sharper in order for the label to say "sharp." Overall it was a good, classic white cheddar.

Pepper jack: When I first tried this cheese, I thought it was too mild for a good pepper jack. Of course it was good, just unimpressive. But the flavor really came out when I accidentally left the block out about an hour. Having the cheese at room temperature really enhances the heat and flavor of the peppers and the pungency of the cheese. Make sure not to eat this cheese right out of the fridge!"

 

"I was already a huge fan of Organic Valley milk and as a huge cheese lover I couldn’t wait to try their organic cheese. I was not disappointed! The provolone is the perfect blend of tang and creamy and would be awesome on a turkey sandwich or even just right out of the bag straight up (which is how I ate it). In addition, the cheddar cheese is some of the best cheddar I’ve ever eaten! Why waste time on expensive specialty cheeses when you can get this organic natural white cheddar and it tastes a million times better. This cheese would go great on your every day sandwich or would be wonderful to pair up with some fruit at your next wine tasting. Huge fan!

One of my favorite cheeses is pepper jack and their pepper jack was fantastic! I has the perfect amount of zest, spice and creamy tang. There is something just perfect about the texture and taste of organic cheese and Organic Valley is a winner on all accounts."

 

"For someone who loves all things cheddar cheese, Organic Valley’s Raw Sharp Cheddar Cheese definitely met my expectations (and I set the bar pretty high). It had a classic cheddar taste and a deliciously creamy texture (don’t you just hate when cheese is dry and crumbly?). I was surprised that it wasn’t as sharp as I expected it to be, but even though it wasn’t in-your-face intense, I still enjoyed the flavor. I was also surprised by the color of this cheese. It’s a mild yellow tone instead of the bright orange cheddar I’m used to. For me, that just made it seem that much more natural and added to my appreciation of this delightful cheese."

 

"The Organic Valley Provolone is some of the best provolone cheese I’ve tasted to date – and I’ve tasted a lot of cheese! It is unbelievably smooth, a characteristic I usually find lacking in provolone. Delightful for eating out of hand, the cheese is great for snacking. It also has supreme meltability and was quite delicious toasted onto a piece of raisin bread. No fridge should be without Organic Valley Provolone."

Pepper Jack cheese is no good when it's all jack and no pepper. Not the case here. This cheese has the perfect kick to add that extra bit of flavor to any meal. It's the perfect thing to spice up a bland sandwich or shred on top of a delicious wrap."
