Cabbage Soup Diet
What it is: The Cabbage Soup Diet is a 7-day diet intended for rapid weight loss, which is a form of dieting generally not recommended by doctors.
How it works: The diet is comprised almost entirely of soups made from cabbage, tomato, celery and a few other vegetables. By mostly only eating these soups, the practitioner consumes a dangerously low number of calories and can indeed lose up to 10 pounds in a week.
What you do: Practitioners must eat mostly soup and some fruit for most of the days. They are not permitted to eat any meat until day five and six. Since the diet is so low in calories, practitioners will probably not have the energy for exercise.
Benefits: You will probably lose weight. Such liquid diets can be a jump-start to a healthier eating plan.
The Down Side: The diet offers little variety and very little nutrition. The diet’s rapid loss of calories is dangerous and can cause weakness and other unfortunate effects in practitioners. Nutritionists believe that you are mostly losing water weight during these types of diets and will probably gain back after the diet.

Hi. Thank you very much for sharing interesting post. The Cabbage Soup Diet is a very straightforward meal plan which is designed to help dieters lose ten pounds a week. However, since its very restrictive, it should only be used for short-term weight loss regimens. This diet is ideal for individuals who want to lose a few pounds within a short period of time, while anyone wanting to lose more than ten pounds should not stay on this diet for two weeks in a row. It is advisable to take a break in between each set of seven days. I have read about Cabbage Soup Diet at http://www.howtoloseweight.org/Cabbage-Soup-Diet.html Do you think is it safe diet?

The Lillie Ross Souper Soup Diet is a lot like The Cabbage Soup Diet with the difference being that after the first day of soup only, you add other proteins........little by little. I was on it for several weeks and lost quite a bit of weight, but once you go off it, the pounds pile back on. True, after 2 weeks you must go off it, wait 3 weeks then go back on it. I guess I wasn't determined enough yet to stay on it.
